Minnie is in a NJ foster home

Meet Minnie!

At just 3 years old, Minnie has already overcome more than most dogs ever should. She was found abandoned and tied to a church in the middle of a New York City winter, cold and terrified. After being brought to a shelter, her fear landed her on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, she got a second chance when a well-meaning family rescued her—but they later realized their resident dog wasn’t a match, and Minnie is now searching for the right forever home.

Now safe in her foster home, Minnie is showing everyone who she truly is.

While she may be a little nervous at first, Minnie warms up quickly and reveals her sweet, silly personality. Once she feels comfortable, she becomes an affectionate cuddle bug who loves attention and companionship. She’ll carry her favorite stuffies around, gently nudge you for pets, and when she’s excited, her whole body wiggles with joy.

Minnie absolutely loves spending time in the yard—whether she’s sunbathing, sniffing, rolling in the grass, or showing off her playful zoomies.

She’s currently living with a canine foster brother and, with a proper introduction, has done wonderfully. They enjoy playing tug and chase, and have even been spotted grooming each other and napping side by side. Minnie could do well with a compatible dog or as your one-and-only.

Minnie is also a well-mannered housemate:

House-trained and quick to do her business outside

Crate-trained and sleeps quietly through the night

Quiet overall—no barking or whining noted

Non-destructive and happy to entertain herself with toys and chews

Rides well in the car

Knows sit, down, wait, and paw and is working on recall and roll-over

Enjoys walks and is learning leash manners

She has shown no interest in chasing cats on walks and has previously done well with children, including a young grandchild.

Minnie is the kind of dog who just needs a little time to feel safe—but once she does, she gives her whole heart. She’s loving, loyal, and full of personality, ready to bring joy, laughter, and companionship to her forever home.

Whether as a solo pup or with a well-matched canine friend, Minnie is more than ready for her fresh start.

Could Minnie be the missing piece in your family?

Minnie will be brought up to date on vaccines and tested for heartworm. Minnie has been spayed/neutered and has a microchip. Her adoption donation is $500.

Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.
