Shelby is a sweet, happy-go-lucky girl who is now in a loving foster home in New Jersey and is ready to find her forever family!
Shelby has a gentle, soulful spirit and an easygoing personality that makes everyone fall in love with her. She’s content with the simple things in life—a walk, a cozy spot on the couch, or simply being with her people. Her calm, loving nature makes her a wonderful companion for families, couples, retirees, or anyone looking for a loyal best friend.
One of the best things about life with Shelby is how easy she is to live with. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, wonderful on a leash, and has excellent manners around the house. Quiet and easygoing, she’s content to relax nearby whether you’re working, watching TV, or out running errands. She doesn’t need constant entertainment—she’s simply happy being with her people. Shelby enjoys treats, but what she loves most is a gentle pet, a belly rub, and being part of the family. During meals, she’ll quietly curl up under the table without begging, happy just to be included.
She literally is the sweetest, chillest dog I’ve ever known.
Shelby is especially wonderful with children. She is incredibly gentle and patient with young kids, happily soaking up their hugs, pets, and attention. Her calm temperament makes her a natural family dog.
Shelby was found as a stray in Louisiana and has overcome more than most dogs ever should. Because of an old gunshot injury, she has a slight wobble and may occasionally need a little extra time or assistance with stairs. It doesn’t slow her down from enjoying walks, running on the beach, or being part of everyday family life. If anything, it only makes her more special.
Shelby gets along well with other dogs and would do best in a home with smaller, gentle canine companions that match her easygoing play style.
She isn’t looking for a perfect home—just a loving one.
