Submit an Online Application
The first step is to complete our Online Adoption Application. Approval is valid for 1 full year.
Important: Please notify your veterinarian that we will be calling, as many clinics require your prior approval to release information.

Volunteer Screening & Vet Check
A Wag On Inn volunteer will screen your application. As part of this process, we will contact your current and former veterinarians to confirm that all pets are up-to-date on vaccines and have been spayed/neutered.

Matchmaking and Discussion
If your application and lifestyle appear to be a good match for the animal’s needs, we will connect you directly with the animal’s foster family. You will discuss your home environment, desires, and the animal’s specific needs.
Note: If this specific animal is not the right fit, we will keep your approved application on file so you may look for another on our website.

The Meet & Greet
If both you and the foster family agree it is a positive match, an appointment will be made to meet the animal.
Mandatory Appointment: Since all our animals are in private foster homes, an appointment is mandatory.
Home Visit: We conduct either an in-person or virtual home visit using a video call.
Pet Introductions: If you have animals of your own, we will also facilitate an introduction to ensure they will get along with the new family member.
Note: If this specific animal is not the right fit, we will keep your approved application on file so you may look for another on our website.

Finalizing the Adoption
The adoption is finalized once the contract is signed and the adoption donation is paid.
