Choxie is in NJ and ready to find her forever family!
This happy, growing girl is now about 26 lbs and full of personality. While she may have started out a little shy, Choxie has really blossomed in her foster home and is showing just how loving, social, and fun she can be.
Choxie absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys meeting new people. She’s also very interested in cats and tries her best to play with them—whether they’re interested or not!
She’s making great progress with her training—she knows “sit” and “lay down,” is working on “stay,” and is doing well with leash walking. Like many puppies, she’s still working on potty training and has picked up a funny new habit of jumping up (she thinks she’s part bunny!), but her foster is actively working with her on that.
Choxie is treat-motivated and eager to learn, which makes training a fun and rewarding experience. She does well in a crate and will let you know when she needs to go out—usually waking up around 6:30–7:00 AM to start her day.
One of her favorite things? Being outside. Choxie loves to explore, sunbathe, and just relax in the yard, so a fenced-in yard would be a big plus for her. She’s also learned to enjoy some independence outdoors while still keeping an eye on her people.
After playtime, she’s happy to settle down on the couch and quietly watch the world go by (or watch you go about your day). She’s a little clumsy, totally adorable, and full of charm.
Choxie would do best with a moderately active family who will continue her training, keep her socialized, and give her plenty of playtime balanced with cozy downtime.
If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate pup with a goofy streak and a love for the outdoors, Choxie might just be your perfect match.
Choxie will be up to date on vaccines. Wag On Inn will arrange for neuter at The Spay and Neuter Center of New Jersey in Holmdel.
Adopters must live within driving distance of Holmdel, NJ. Her adoption donation is $550.
Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.
